Without an accurate continence assessment, residents will be given the wrong product type with the wrong size and absorption level. This will have a negative effect on both physical and emotional wellbeing. As well as being uncomfortable, this will cause leakages that can lead to incontinence-associated dermatitis, a loss of dignity, sleep deprivation and social withdrawal.
