High-performance products. Reduced environmental impact.

At TENA, we’re always striving to do better – from improved designs and using less and better material to powering our European factories that manufacture TENA products with 100% purchased certified renewable electricity. Thanks to these efforts, we’ve reduced the carbon footprint across our range of absorbent products in Europe by 17–46% between 2008 and 2024 – according to third-party-reviewed Life Cycle Assessments conducted by Essity.

A snapshot of our progress

Here is a snapshot of our progress across the TENA absorbent product range – and the carbon footprint reductions achieved between 2008 and 2024 in Europe.

What is a Life Cycle Assessment – and how does it help us innovate?

A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a globally recognised and standardised method for measuring the environmental impact of products – from raw materials and production through to disposal or recycling. We use Life Cycle Assessments to guide individual product innovations and track our progress, ensuring our efforts align with our Science Based Targets. The carbon footprint of TENA products is calculated Life Cycle Assessment.
